Balloon Care

Temperature is one of the biggest factors affecting how long your balloons will float. They are best kept at an even, comfortable room temperature. If the room is too hot, your balloon may burst. If the room is too cold, your balloon may start to deflate.

Bubble balloons & foil balloons can last days, weeks or even months!

They have a much longer lifespan than latex balloons because latex balloons are porous & helium slowly escapes out of them.

A standard 28cm latex balloon will generally last 10-12 hours when kept in optimum conditions. However we add HI Float to all of our latex balloons which is a conditioning treatment applied to the inside of the balloon to slow down the deflation process. This can extend the life of your balloons by a few days to a week or more.

These are the main factors determining how long your balloon will last. We recommend picking up your balloons as close to your event time as possible to ensure you get the most float time.

Alternatively we also offer delivery.

Transporting Balloons

We often give our customers a balloon bag to assist in the transport of their balloons. These are fantastic for protecting them from the weather & keeping them under control whilst travelling with them in the car, However they will reduce the life of the balloons if they’re kept in there too long. We also advise our customers to never leave your balloons in a parked car.

Sustainability

Many people have the perception that balloons are bad for our environment. In some cases this is true – depending on the materials used to make them. In our case all of our latex balloons are made with 100% biodegradable latex material and will break down at the rate of an oak leaf.

Latex balloons are made from a natural product that is derived from the Para Rubber tree – They are not plastic.

Rubber tree farming creates employment for people & is a very valuable commodity in many third world countries.

Balloons bring so much fun, excitement & colour to our lives but it’s true that what goes up must come down so we ask that you respect our environment & protect our little people. When the party is over please pin & bin your balloons.

Helium Safety

Helium is an inert gas & is non flammable & non toxic.

Helium should not be inhaled. Inhaling helium replaces the oxygen in your lungs and can cause dizziness, unconsciousness & possibly death.
